MELBOURNE, 12 JULY 2022: Personal finance marketplace Compare Club has today announced Eayl Machlis as its new General Manager of General Insurance and Banking.

With over 20 years’ combined corporate and entrepreneurial experience, Machlis is an expert in insurance and banking. He will spearhead Compare Club’s scaling of its key insurance verticals and its credit cards vertical, primarily focusing on extending and broadening the range of credit cards available within the Compare Club space.

Eayl Machlis, newly appointed General Manager of General Insurance and Financial Services

He has previously held leadership positions at Coles, Suncorp and Commonwealth Bank of Australia, focusing on delivery, growth, sales and strategy, before co-Founding Thunder Insurance, a millennial and gaming focused insurance entity.

At Compare Club, he will assume the responsibilities of General Manager and will be charged with the company’s car insurance, credit card, personal loans and car loans verticals. He will also lead the development of brand new verticals set to launch later in 2023 and beyond.

“It’s a very exciting time to join Compare Club. I felt very closely aligned with the values of the company and its agile and dynamic way of working,” said Machlis.

“I very much believe that anyone can make a better financial decision if they are informed on their options. This is a belief that Compare Club prioritises, and it is my goal to continue to grow towards this objective.”

“The company has boasted some impressive wins of late, including the acquisition of Lifelong Insurance Solutions as part of its trajectory to have $100 million of life insurance premiums under management, and 400% YoY growth of its home loans division. I aspire to continue Compare Club’s significant year-on-year growth and look forward to the year ahead.”

Compare Cub co-founder and CEO Lance Goodman said the addition of Machlis to the Compare Club team will dramatically improve the quality of expertise within the general insurance and banking verticals.

“With his combination of passion, years of experience and superior entrepreneurial proficiency, Eayl brings a new level of opportunity for Compare Club’s growth into new verticals for this business. With the universal intention to continue to provide the best service for our customers, Eayl’s in-depth understanding of these new verticals and overall commitment to Compare Club  customers will ensure we continue to achieve these goals,” he said of the appointment.

“We are very excited to have him join the team and to see the contribution that Eayl will bring.”
