Following extensive refurbishment and rebrand, The Farmhouse at Fincham (formerly Timbers Country Lodge) has officially reopened for business, welcoming both local guests and those looking for the perfect getaway in West Norfolk.

The Farmhouse at Fincham is a Grade 2 listed barn situated in the tranquil village of Fincham, Norfolk. Located 4 miles from RAF Marham, 7 Miles from Downham Market, 12 miles from Kings Lynn and miles from Swaffham, and set in grounds of 2.7 acres, The Farmhouse at Fincham  is the perfect getaway for couples, families and individuals alike.

Versatility is at the heart of The Farmhouse at Fincham, and is something that very few locations in the region can offer. From exquisite indoor and outdoor dining, to barn, garden or marquee weddings, through to accommodation in barns, lodges or a cottage, The Farmhouse really does cater for everyone.

Having officially opened to the public on the 17th June 2021, The Farmhouse at Fincham recently announced that it would be continuing with social distancing measures after the 19th July in order to keep staff and guests as safe as possible.

The perfect home away from home

The impressive barn complex consists of eloquent wooden chalets, log cabins and a cottage outside of the main Grade II listed barn.

Providing 46 bedrooms, the wooden chalets sleep either 2 or 4 people, whilst the two lodges can sleep up to 4 people and the cottage sleeps 10 people. The rooms have all been decorated to a high standard, incorporating both modern and traditional country touches with low ceilings and wooden beams, The accommodation includes a flat-screen TV, seating and free WiFi. All rooms are en-suite with a shower, some with a shower and a bath.

Average room prices for a double start at £120 and for a family £150 per night bed and breakfast. Dinner at the inhouse restaurant can be purchased at £25 per person for a 3 course meal.

A delectable gastro dining experience at The Hayloft

The recently modernised in-house bar and restaurant, The Hayloft provides a welcoming experience, with its light, airy design, rustic nuances and contrasting fabrics.

The Hayloft serves a delicious array of homemade meals with a gastro twist, made with locally sourced ingredients. Working with local suppliers and their produce, guests can choose from Picnic Afternoon Tea, lunch lite bites, sharing boards and an A La Carte menu, with most things in between. Enjoy such culinary fancies as parmesan & thyme chips, wheat beer battered line caught Cod, wild boar & apple sausages and 8 hour slow cooked Wormegy beef short rib.

The downstairs restaurant provides dining for 60 guests, with room for an additional 40 guests in the barn and 60 guests in the quaint outside dining area, which overlooks the complex and the rolling fields that surround it. Upstairs, the newly renovated Loft Bar area sits a further 60 people.

A loyal array of local suppliers 

The Farmhouse at Fincham is extremely proud of its heritage and was very keen to work with local suppliers wherever possible. Not only does this support the local economy but also helps to reduce air and road miles associated with transporting the supplies to the Farmhouse. So far, The Farmhouse has partnered with Duration Beer (Kings Lynn), Raider Cider (Norwich), CH Wines (Norwich), Edmunds Cocktails (Wymondham) and an array of local butcheries, fruit suppliers and other  locally sourced Norfolk suppliers. It is also working closely with Celeb Cars and Events of Norwich to deliver the best additional services to accompany weddings and special events.

Mesmerising weddings and other special celebrations

Complementing the stunning setting, The Farmhouse also has the capacity to host both larger events as well as more intimate celebrations. Licenced for civil ceremonies, this all-inclusive complex offers weddings and events to suit a variety of budgets.

Recent renovations include refurbishment of a historic 100-year old barn which can host up to 60 guests and is available to hire for ‘Boutique Barn’ weddings and other special celebrations, This is in addition to a magnificent permanent marquee for the larger events of up to 150 , with its own bar, toilets, large dance floor and chandeliers. The garden is also available as the perfect setting for outdoor weddings of up to 80  guests.

 The perfect pet-friendly location

Surrounded by an abundance of woodland and fields, The Farmhouse is the perfect pet friendly location to bring the canine members of your family. All of the rooms are dog friendly, and they are also welcome in The Hayloft bar and restaurant to accompany their owners to breakfast, lunch and dinner. For those wishing to venture to the coast during their stay, the beaches at Holkham and Wells-next-the-sea are favourite spots amongst dog walkers throughout the year.

Fun packed activities to explore the local area

The Farmhouse is surrounded by glorious countryside and coastal settings, Guests can spend their days exploring the surrounding fields on walks or take a trip to the beautiful coastline of North Norfolk including the beautiful beaches of Huntstanton and the harbour town of Wells Next the Sea.

There is also an abundance of local attractions to fill your days including Duration Brewing, offering brewery tours around their modern farmhouse brewery in the countryside of West Norfolk, surrounded by the creative solitude of nature.

Wattatunga Wildlife Reserve Is a stunning new wildlife reserve offering buggy tours of the animals across the grounds. Situated amongst 170 acres of woodland, grassland and lakes, Watatunga provides a unique environment for over twenty types of ungulate and rare bird species to roam at their will..

Sandringham is the much-loved country retreat of her majesty the queen, and has been the private home of four generations of British Monarchs since 1862. Offering house and garden tours, Sandringham Royal Park spreads over 243 hectares with waymarked trails for cycling or exploring by foot and a children’s play area. The Royal Park is dog friendly with facilities.

Holkham Hall is an 18th-century country house located adjacent to the village of Holkham, Norfolk. Holkham Hall is privately owned and is the centre of a thriving 25,000 acre agricultural estate. Holkham National Nature Reserve is one of the largest in the country. Offering Hall tours, picturesque gardens including the Walled Garden, Woodland Parks, Courtyard Cafe, The Lookout at Holkham Beach and cycle and boat hire, there is certainly plenty to do and explore on this grand estate.

Downham Market is set on the banks of the River Great Ouse, and dating back to Saxon times, is one of Norfolk’s oldest market towns. The attractive market place is immediately identifiable by the splendidly unusual and majestic black and white clock. The area is brim full of historic buildings and amazing architecture. The town retains a really intimate

feel, characterised by many fine historic buildings, craft and collectibles markets.
